There is something amazing that happens in every single world series of poker tournament each year no matter what records are broken and there are always a fair few fresh new faces at the tables even though they may not always make it to the final table. Eastgate proved himself when he won this title of youngest champion, he worked long and hard to get to that level of skill at such a young age and it paid off. I think that he inspired many other younger people to consider poker as an option when it comes to gambling. It is good to see people thinking more of poker rather than just going for the usual slots that were for such a long time the preferred gambling type for the younger generations. I think that if more young people spent their spare time when they are bored by playing poker rather than going out to parties and clubs that there probably would be less violence that involves people of that age group because poker isn’t a game that encourages violence or bad behaviour, on the contrary actually it seems to encourage more gentleman and ladylike behaviours.

There was a couple of moments in the 2009 world series of poker where i was a little concerned that Cada was not going to make it in the end, he did play well the whole game but there were a few moments here and there where he seemed to be unsure of what he was going to do, he seemed a little unsure of himself sometimes, but then again maybe that was just a really good display of a strong and effective poker face by cada and i just did not realise it. I wonder what it feels like to be that young and win that much money. Hopefully these young champions who are able to boast bank accounts that have millions of dollars in them are able to spend their money wisely and are responsible enough to keep it and make it last rather than just blowing it all in such a small amount of time.

Professional poker players are known for their good sense of risk taking and their ability to make good calls but there have been instances where their ability to do such things pretty much started and stayed in the poker game and unfortunately did not extend out into their every day lives. There have been poker pros who have had millions of dollars in winnings, only to go out and waste it all on living it up for a couple of years. These players literally spent everything that they had and were flat broke. It is amazing how such great players who usually have plenty of knowledge on decision making can manage to screw up so royally with money of all things. I have heard of celebrities doing it, but you kind of expect them to, seems to be the common thing to do after your career has pretty much been over for decades, but it isn’t something that we hear of poker professional players doing often which is why it seems so unusual and ironic to me.

Eastgate did play well there is no denying it and even though he only got to be the youngest world series of poker champion for a short twelve months i am sure that he would have made the most of it. I don’t think that the amount of time that you hold the title really matters, it is the fact itself that you ever held the title in the first place that is important and there are not all that many professional poker players that can say that they did hold that title at some stage in their poker playing career. To some people it may seem like not that much of a big deal but in reality it is a huge deal and a reason for these players that make the records to go down in the poker history books for what they have managed to achieve. They are great to get to the professional level at such young ages let alone to actually make records for themselves and then to actually win the world series of poker at their ages is just something that they probably never would have even imagined themselves being able to do.

Players like this show us that almost anything can be achieved when we set our minds to it and when we really want to do it. These young players did not just play and win all of the time, they played alot and they won and lost but more importantly, they did not ever give up no matter how many times they lost or how much money the lost, they kept at it and eventually their persistence in playing poker finally paid off and they were able to start to reap the rewards of the game. These players are inspirational as are the people who helped to teach them how to play and the people whom these young professionals looked up to in the poker world. Nothing is impossible if you want it badly enough and that is evident when you look at these players and all of the things that they have been able to achieve when playing poker at such young ages.

They work hard at something that they really enjoy in order to get to the levels of poker skill that they get to. It does not just come to the over night, they are not just born good at poker, these players have to work long and hard and practice often in order to become professionals at the game. We used to say that the pros that were in their 30s have been playing poker since a young age, well i wonder what we should be saying about these great and very young world series of poker champions. Have they been playing poker since they were in diapers or something like that? With how advanced their poker abilities are i would actually be led to believe that if they said that to me because they are just that great.
