For many men I am sure that this event would be probably one of the closest things that you could possibly get to heaven on earth. The combination of Poker and fishing, two great pastimes, joined together, very enticing indeed. If i was anywhere near that then I would certainly be attending but unfortunately for me it is abit too far to travel, perhaps if they do it again next year and then I will have time to make travel arrangements and accomodation etc and other preparations that I have to make in order to be able to attend. Certainly on my to do list for next year though.

Poker, fishing and Heated tents, Yeah you are right, does sound like heaven. Now I wonder how much it will take to convince my wife to let me go or to come with me because it is definately calling my name, i can hear it on the breeze just calling me softly lol. I will tell her it is my life long dream to go fishing and play poker all on the ice in a heated tent. Do you think that will work? I sure hope that it will otherwise I am going to have to be crawling to her for a while in order for her to let me go.

Will be interesting indeed especially if the fish are really biting and there are some good catches going on. What will happen to those poor people who are both avid keen players of poker and avid keen fishermen? Just what will they do if the fish are biting good and it's time to go play poker? Will be interesting to see what my boyfriend decides to do lol because he loves fishing and yet he loves poker just as much and i think that it will be hard for him to decide between the two if he has to choose whether to continue doing one or to go over and start doing the other.

That is one of the most beautiful combinations ever and certainly could be considered heavenly in my eyes and i'd be doing my very best to be able to make it there and participate. I wonder how many people will end up showing up to this event? And i don't mean just the number of people who will be fishing and playing poker but i mean the total amount of people that will be there, participating in the poker and fishing, observing the poker and fishing and working at the event. Glad they will hold it where the ice will be nice and thick lol otherwise it could be a disaster.

I know a few friends of mine that would give up a whole heap of things in order to be able to attend something like this, bringing together fishing and poker is considered to be genius, it's like bread and butter, such a great combination that so many people love. Why was this not thought of sooner? I wonder if this will remain just a polar thing or if they will also start holding it when the lake has returned back to its thawed liquid state and hold the poker beside the lake instead of on it, or a big floating pontoon or something like that, my imagination is getting carried away again lol, still, great idea lol.

I would go, it'd be great. Different to your usual in casino poker tournaments too, very different. I think that it could draw quite a few numbers in both participants and spectators. It would be interesting to see but i wonder how it will go when it comes to children, mainly younger children, they would have to have strict supervision with little kids around if they allow them to be there, dangerous enough at times with young children on the ice but it is even worse and a much higher need for diligance and supervision when there is a combination of young children, ice and ice fishing holes. I am sure they have already figured all of this out though and have all bases covered, should be a great event.

It would be a nice change and something that i would love to go to even if it was just to watch. I would go just to experience it because it may or may not be a regular event so at least if you go to the first one ever held you know that you aren't going to miss out unlike if you pass it up at the first time it is held and make the excuse that you will go to the next one only to find out later that there will not be another one. Even if you can take your children there i would not be taking mine purely because the children would distract from the poker which is the last thing you want so i would be getting a sitter.

Poker and fishing sounds like a great way to spend a weekend. Hopefully it will be successful in order for it to become a regular event annually or something like that. It is always good to see more new poker events popping up on the calendar each year adding to the many events that we have to look forward to. It is a well thought out combination too which is set to lure many people in, especially males lol. Maybe they should also start working on another event designed to attract more of a female demographic. Something similar such as shopping and poker or makeup and poker or movies and poker or fashion and poker and stuff like that. I think that it would work too. I will be going to fishing and poker and if they ever make one aimed more at my own gender then I will be sure to go to that as well.

With poker and fishing together you can not go wrong! I think that it is nice and different to the usual poker tournaments that you would see and because of this there will probably be quite a lot of people who will turn up to the event in order to either enter it and play poker and fish, or just sit back and watch all the other people who are in the event playing poker and fishing. It will also be a good opportunity for them to raise plenty of funds which are much needed. What will the prizes be for those who win at the fishing and how will the winner of the fishing be determined? Will it be by the length of fish or the number of the fish caught or will it be based on the weight of the fish?

Not only will this polar poker challenge be a great event for those who like both fishing and poker but it will also be good for those who are enthusiasts of one but do not know much about the other. For those people who love ice fishing but know nothing or little about poker it will be a great chance for these people to learn the game and meet other peoplw who share the same passions, the same goes for those people who love poker but are new to ice fishing. Obviously it can not be an event that is held all year round every month because the lake is not frozen over all year round, but hopefully it will go well and will be held every year. I could not possibly make it this time but I do hope that they hold another one so that I can have the chance to go to it because it is both interesting and enticing to me. I love poker and I have only ever heard about ice fishing, never been able to actually do it for real.
