I think that this tournament is a really good idea, it's like the hallmark event of valentines day lol. And the prize is very appropriate for it as well, a trip for two, very romantic and you can get it without having to spend much money at all which makes it even better, your girlfriend or boyfriend would never be annoyed at you for playing poker ever again if you won something like that, well at least they wouldn't be annoyed at you for it for a few months lol, after a while it'd probably be a little irritating to them if you play often again, but that can be easily solved, just win the next one. And it is good to see that they are offering the prizes to a few people rather than just one person because it makes it even more enticing.

This event could really makesome relationships, that being said however it may manage to do the complete opposite as well and break some relationships if people aren't careful with their money and are not considerate of their partners wishes. If your partner wants to go away for the weekend for a few days before and including valentines day and has plans for it then you probably shouldn't go shrugging it off to go play in a poker tournament. If she is into poker though I am sure that she probably won't mind. Maybe if both people in the couple take part in it then they might not only enjoy it together but also they will be doubling their chances of winning which is nothing to be frowned upon.

When they came up with this one they really did have their thinking caps on. There are probably already tournaments out there for all the other important days, new years day etc, but valentines day? I don't think there are any other tournaments there for valentines day. Not sure just how well it would go down though, especially if they didn't come out winning anything, wouldn't be too happy with my significant other if they coud not get me a present for valentines day or take me out to dinner or something nice and special like that because they had lost all the money they had for it by playing in a poker tournament, their good intentions would not matter to me either lol, so guys if you are thinking of entering this, make sure you have a backup gift, not every one can win in this tournament so don't lose all of your money, either buy a present and set dinner money aside first or dont play lol, and if you fail to do that and you lose all the money you better practice your groveling skills lol.

Will be interesting to see just how well this tournament ends up being pulled off. I know a few people who are wanting to go to it but whether or not they actually get to is another story all together I guess. What if someone who is single wins? You would think that it would be something for people in relationships, I guess if someone who is single wins it that they will probably just end up taking a good gambling buddy along with them for the trip. Would be funny if it included accomodation in a nice fancy suite that only has one bed. Brings to mind the hangover movie lol. Be funny to see some women getting angry at their partners for going off to play poker and then suddenly changing their tune when their partners actually win.

Lol funny you should mention that, my wife is just like that. She gets annoyed at me for playing online poker a fair bit, I like to spend a few hours online playing poker at home on the weekend and she gets annoyed over it because she wants us to get up in the early hours of the morning and go off to garage sales and I don't want to, i'd rather play online poker. She has since compromised with me, we go do what she wants in the morning and I get to play my poker in peace for an hour or two so long as we go out somewhere for lunch lol. I wonder how much it is going to cost me to be able to go to this tournament though?

anyone who gets to walk away from it with a prize will be having a good valentines day that's for sure. As for those who do not, especially if their partner did not want them going into it in the first place, should probably go for the sympathy angle, act so upset and carry on about how your poker skills are so bad and how you have lost your touch and you can't even win a holiday for the one you love and blah blah blah etc etc in order for them to feel bad for you rather than feel mad at you lol. That would be what i would do. Also have a backup plan, not everyone can win it and you need to have a plan to fall back on for if you do not win, that way you still have a gift even though you didn't win anything, otherwise you will be wading in very dangerous waters lol.

Not the most romantic way to be spending time around valentines day, actually it could very well ruin the whole day for you and the vibe of it all if you don't win, especially if you had to talk your partner around to letting you enter it in the first place but hey you live and you learn, if you enter it and don't win make sure that you have other plans to keep your other halfs mind off of the whole thing. Nothing like a good old sucking up when you screwed up lol and what a better time than valentines day to do it.

Valentines day is considered by many people to be a special day, i am not sure how some halves of couples will feel about their loved ones going off to play poker around this time, but i think that on the other hand, for those couples that share poker as a mutual interest, this is such a great way that they can spend such a special time, not only can they spend the time together doing something that they both have in common and that they both enjoy but they also have the potential to win money, i can't see anyone complaining about that. And even if you don't win you still spent time with your loved one doing something you both enjoy.

I think that it is good, you get kind of sick, well not sick or bored but just a little ho hum about seeing the same poker tournaments year after year, new poker tournaments are always exciting, especially ones like this that are completely new and there are not any other ones like that around or that have been held in the past. Whilst it may not be the kind of thing that is typical to do to celebrate valentines day it is certainly a novel way to spend it and one which may bring with it some very nice rewards. For the poker enthusiastic couple it may just be the valentines day of their dreams.
