People these days truly are impatient like you said. Back in the old days fast food used to be a luxury, something to give mom a break from cooking for a night, these days people get impatient having to wait just five minutes for their meal to be served to them at a take out restaurant. It is what i like to call the here and now generation. They want what they want when they want it and they do not want it any other way. And yet we keep adding to it by creating more and more gadgets that we do not need. This console does what you could do yourself by walking just a few metres to the counter for a gambling assistant to serve you. It takes out the human contact aspect of things and turns it into nothing more than an atm for placing bets, only with usually the machine getting more money than what you would get out of it.

I would have to say that i neither agree or disagree with you on this. I guess that i find myself more so stuck in the middle of it all. I do agree that we are getting lazier all the time and i do agree that we do not really need this machine, but at the same time i think that it would make the whole thing faster and when it comes down to being stuck in a situation where you have a poker tournament starting in a matter of minutes but you just find out that your favourite horse is racing during the tournament at great odds but the betting station is quite a long walk away, this would prove to be a god send, you could quickly walk the few steps to the doors of the poker room, get on the machine, find the race and your horse, place your bets and then make it back into the poker room in time to enter the tournament without having to run all the way to the betting counter and back again, which also makes you look a lot more sane. If they were going to put the machine right next to the betting window then that would be a completely different story all together because then it really would be plain ridiculous.

It is not there to make people more lazy, it is not the only way that you can place your bets in the casino. You are not forced to use it. It is just there as a convienice. If you want to use it you use it, if you do not then you don’t, no big deal really. Truth be told we probably do not need it, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t get used. It may actually simplify the act of placing a bet for some people by having it all at your fingertips right in front of you rather than having to have multiple little pieces of paper in front of you that you have to mark and then finding yourself confused on what you were going to bet on who for what race. And i agree on the fact that just because it is there does not mean that you have to use it. There are stairs and elevators in buildings so you do not have to take the elevator, you just choose to, it is not different when it comes to this gaming console. It is the same situation just a different object. Whether or not all of the casinos start to get them and install them near their poker rooms will be interesting but i would have to guess that they probably will. Seems to be a trend where if one gets it they all have to get it. Nothing like good old healthy competition.

There are thousands, if not millions, of companies all over the world that make plenty of money off the lazy nature of people so why can’t the gambling console companies cash in on it too? People do have choices, and they choose to be lazy so we can not blame the companies that make these items for the laziness of people, that is the peoples own doing themselves and no one elses. I do agree that we don’t really need it but hey that’s just the way things are these days. Look around in your house and you will see plenty of things that you don’t need, these things are luxuries, the same as this games console for the casinos are. Your couch, that is a luxury, you could just sit on the floor, the same goes for your bed and your dining table, everything you do with these large pieces of furniture you could instead be doing on the floor and yet you still have them and you still use them every single day. That puts it into a whole new perspective to it all doesn’t it? You use these things because you want to and not because you need to, the same goes for these gaming consoles.

Will game consoles like this eventually replace the need for people in the casino for betting? Will betting assistants lose their jobs because these machines have taken over their jobs and do it without the need for pay? It is a possibility but at the same time you need to remember the fact that where ever there are machines and computers and just electronics in general there is the chance of complications arising such as malfunctions, melt downs, viruses, software problems and many other things that could go wrong, so considering that fact it would make sense that these consoles could not ever replace the need for human betting tellars. There is always going to be something new in the gambling industry that people do not approve of. I happen to think that the consoles are a great idea and that they will make placing bets much quicker, whether using the machines or a person to place your bets because it will lessen the size of the lines. Hopefully it catches on because i want to try one out, heck i would probably travel to one of these casinos just to try it lol and for the roadtrip of course.
