The UIGEA is nothing but a big heap of rubbish designed to help slow down the amount of us that gamble online and to cause a decrease in the amounts of money that we gamble on these sites but why on earth they thought that bringing something like this in would actually work to stop us playing or to lower our spending on these online poker sites is absolutely beyond me, it does not really hamper anyones abilities to gamble online, it doesn’t even really bother me, the only way it has done anything to slow down people who gamble on the internet is by causing them to be completely at a loss as to what the hell is going on. Other than that it has proven to be useless and pointless.

The uigea is one of the biggest disasters in poker history. Not only do a large number of online poker players have not a single clue as to what the Unlawful internet gambling enforcement act actually means for them and their abilty to play poker but it also seems as though the people who made it and the people who allowed it to pass through do not really understand the whole thing properly either, they seem to be just as confused as the many online poker players are. They royally screwed up on this one. They are not stopping anyone from gambling at all, it does not even really hinder my efforts or abilities to get on the internet and play a few hands, if that is what they wanted from the uigea then they have blatantly failed miserably.

People who are really keen to get online and gamble will do so no matter what the government tries to do to stop them, there are just too many ways that they can deposit into their accounts, stopping the ability to use bank accounts and credit cards doesn’t do it, now they just use pre paid debit cards instead, they use paypal in some cases as there are some online poker sites and online casinos that do accept paypal as a depositing method, ultimately they can just transfer money from their credit card immediately into their paypal accounts and then fund their gambling accounts with the money that is sitting into their paypal, it may seem like a few steps but it is almost as quick as doing it directly from your credit card. There are too many options available for them to stop or slow people down from gambling on the internet, they don’t even seem all that serious about it really.

This will by no means stop people from gambling on the internet. My sister was pregnant and she had really big cravings, severe cravings if you will, to eat a nice hot apple pie with lots of cinnamon ontop and a large chocolate thickshake. She had no car at the time because her husband had taken it to work, she did not want to wait around for the next bus, so instead, my heavily pregnant and obviously very hungry sister walked a total of 16 blocks to get to her favourite bakery and get her hot apple pie and then went to the store a few stores down to get herself the chocolate thickshake she had been wanting. She sat there and ate the whole thing and then got another for the trip home and she ate it on the way home, came home very pleased with herself and what she had achieved and happy that her cravings had been satisified. The point in all of that is that if someone wants something bad enough they will do what ever they need to do in order to get what they want, no matter how difficult or how long you make it for them to do what they want.

I whole heartedly agree with you, this will do nothing at all to stop people gambling online. They will just use checks and e wallets and click 2 pay and stuff like that to put money into their accounts instead. They can’t be doing it because of online gambling being illegal because if that was why there were doing it then it would only be banks in those particular states that would have to abide by the rules set out in the Unlawful Internet gambing Enforcement act, not the whole country. They will make a heap of money out of the banks though if there are any banks silly enough to ignore the law and allow the processing of these outlawed payments through the accounts of their customers, i would hate to see the size of the fine that they would get for doing so.
