I think that it is great to see and for others to see that us poker players can come together for such a great and as the story said a noble cause. These people have come together to do something that they love with the intention of helping other people and helping science and health with the possibility of finding a cure so that current sufferers no longer need to suffer and future sufferers will not need to reach the levels of suffering that those people who are currently afflicted with these medical conditions do. Good on them.

Poker players just keep finding more and more ways to show the community and the government just how great the game and the people who play it really are. I hope that this shows the people out there who are against poker and gambling and those of us who take part in such activities that we are not just greedy people who are always chasing a dollar, we are compassionate and enjoy the games we play which is why we play them, the potential for financial gain as well as having a great time doing what we enjoy is just an added bonus and not the be all and end all.

Couldn't be more true than that. It is about time people started to realise that we are generous people with great human spirit for others and we aren't just money hungry gambling addicts or something like that. A few bad apples have tarnished the reputations of most of us and it isn't really fair on us, we have done nothing wrong. Good on these people for using their skills to help others out, its beautiful to see such a beautiful display and act of kindness, and the fact that it involves poker just makes it even more beautiful.

It is times like this that it makes us most proud to be poker players, it is great to be able to play something that you enjoy playing, being able to play it and have the potential to make a financial gain makes it even better, but to be able to play a game that you love and to win money and help other human beings out all at the same time is just one of the most rewarding feelings that you can ever get. It is people like this that not only embrace but also display the true meaning of humanity and love and compassion for one another.

These people really do such a great job and not only do they do so in the form of helping out their fellow human beings and helping to raise awareness and funds for the cause but also by helping to expose the game of poker much more and to show people how the game of poker isn't all about gaining something. It is people like this who i credit to helping those who are very anti-gambling minded to see things from our point of view. They also help to show others that there is much more to the poker player than meets the eye. Goes to show them that there are plenty of good things that can come from playing poker and that we aren't all horrible gambling junkies just because we play a game that we enjoy and happen to make money out of it from time to time.

I think that there are some people that really do have the wrong impression about poker players. Unfortunately there are many people who are against poker and who still to this very day stereotype us all as being addicts who can not turn down the possibility to have a bet, even though this is not true at all. Yes admittedly there are some people in the world who are like this but it certainly is not the majority of poker players, only about 10% or less of poker players are these compulsive addicts, the rest of us just enjoy a game and are lucky enough to win money at doing something we enjoy from time to time. It is nice to see poker players doing things like this to help others out and to also show others that we are not the kind of people that these stereotypes make us out to be.

Poker is a great game to play. I do not just think this because i like it and i am bias or anything like that but i also say it because it does so much to help people. Poker is a game that allows people to enjoy themselves. It allows people to take risks without the possibility of accidently harming themselves or other people. It gives people skills that can be used in everyday life such as assessing risks and managing money and being observant of people and your surroundings and it also allows people to make money whilst doing something that they are good at as well as something that they like to do. Poker helping to find cures and helping to fund great causes is just another example of what the game can do for people, it is a wonderful game to get involved in and more and more people will start to see the good side of us poker players rather than just stereo typing us all of the time.

Poker is a game for people of all skills and the game has a sense of social fun about it. It give people a chance to get together and forge new friendships over something that they all have in common, their love of poker. Poker isn't a game that people play purely because they are greedy and want more and more money, this is just a bad wrap that we get for reasons that i do not quite understand. Maybe it is because of the money that poker professionals make in tournaments that make others jealous and therefore they then label us all as being greedy, maybe it is because of a few players who have won plenty of money in the past and yet are today flat broke. We probably will never know why we are called these things but there is hope that these gestures made by poker players more and more will open others eyes to us so that they can see us for who we really are and not who we are perceived to be.

We are poker players, we love what we do and it brings us fun and entertainment and sometimes even rewards us financially, why should we be ashamed of ourselves just because some small narrow minded people want to go along and stereotype us as some kind of horrible bunch of people who care for nothing and no one other than ourselves and our money? Yes sure this kind of thing from poker players does help to show people that we are not what we are often made out to be but we don’t need that, we do it because that is who we are deep down and not because we want to get rid of any stereotypes. If people are too shallow to see us for who we really are rather than who they presume us to be then that only reflects badly upon them and not us.

This is not the first time that poker players have come together and played for a good cause and there is no doubt that it will be the last time either. People put too much focus on how much money poker professional players make and not the other things that they do. There are plenty of poker pro players who play for charity and plenty of pros who donate some of their winnings to charities to help out those less fortunate and with research and many other things that charities need funding for. Just because these players win a large sum of money at times it does not mean that they are greedy people who just sit there and spend every single cent of it on themselves, there is a lot more to these players than just money.
