This is both a sad thing and an exciting one at the same time. It is sad that this is the last event on the 2009 calander for poker but at the same time there is more poker action starting in january 2010 which is not far away at all which is why it is always exciting. It is a wonderful end to the year with the poker world having seen many high points and the few low points in the year. I can only take a guess as to say that next year it will be even bigger and better for the poker world and i can not wait to see the new year in and for the tournaments to begin!

These poker players really do not get the recognition that they deserve i think. The amount of money that they win is absolutely huge and very impressive. Whilst most of us average everyday people who work at average everyday jobs and earn average everyday amounts of money work and work and only earn around twenty to thirty thousand dollars every financial year these professional poker players are winning themselves over 2 million dollars a year, getting paid millions of dollars a year to do something that you really enjoy would be so great and people don't recognise how great these players are and just how good they have got it, all from poker.

Although we are saying goodbye to what has been an absolutely great year for the poker industry and us poker enthusiasts we are also preparing to welcome with open arms what will be yet another great year of poker in 2010. He played a great game and deserves the win, now let's hope that he is able to continue playing with such tenacity and skills in the World Poker tour of 2010. There have been so many great poker players on display and in the headlines in 2009 and it will be good to see even more new poker players coming out and making names for themselves in the poker world in the year that is not too far off. With every year that goes by we seem to be finding more and more great players who are not only impressive but also inspirational.

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act has been the topic of a heap of discussion and debate ever since the enforcement compliance date drew near. I think that it is both a lack of information and a lack of understanding and communication that has made this whole thing a lot more confusing and difficult and controversial than it needed to be. It has been around for many many years and people have not had any problems with it, but now that it came time for it to be in place legally it became a big issue because no one really knew what was going on. The companies may have been full aware of what it meant for them and their customers but the general public was not aware and still is not aware of what all of it means. They need to do something it is causing a heap of trouble.

There is plenty to be looking forward to for poker in 2010 and with the year of 2009 drawing to an end so quickly there is plenty to get excited about. Every year there is something new coming up in poker and every year there a multiple great poker players who turn professional poker players who we should be keeping our eyes on. Every tournament whether it is held online or in a casino in person has twists and turns that keep us on the edge of our seats. Seeing the end of the last big poker event for the year does not feel like the end, it is a great way to finish 2009 in the poker world. It does not really feel like the poker events ever stop because every year there are more and more events to look forward to.

What a great effort these poker players put in. $2 million dollars in the course of a year all from poker? Not only is that an unreal amount of money and more than the most of us would ever have a chance of making in a year but it is also from doing something you enjoy. Where some company executives can get that much money in a year most of them do have to work long hard hours to get that money and they have to work hard, usually at jobs that they do not like doing, they are just in it for the money. When it comes to these pro poker players who make themselves millions of dollars every year they do take a while to do it, spend many hours playing poker but they do not have to do a job that they do not like doing, they get that money doing something that they enjoy, that is the dream right there.

Just because the winner of the final stage of the world poker tour, the last major poker event for the year, was announced it does not mean that we all have to hang out heads in sadness at the year being over, there is plenty more poker action yet to come where that came from and this year is going to be the best year yet for us poker fans i am sure of it. There is always something new happening in our fun little poker world, always something new and exciting to look forward to and we are never short of any poker tournaments or events that we can go to and watch or participate in. That is the beauty of the game, it has so much potential and variety, there are plenty of games in the world but there are rarely any that offer the kinds of things that poker does.

I actually look forward to the end of the world poker tour because not only do i always want to find out who is going to be pronounced as the winner but i also eagerly await it because it is so very close to the end of the year and the end of poker for the year which means that in a matter of just a few short weeks we will all be able to start the fun all over again with the action for the start of the year about to begin. I like to watch the very first big poker event of the year, no matter where it is or what kind of tournament it is even though my preference is for texas hold em. I watch them all from the very beginning because i like to keep track of who gets the first poker title for the new year, My father used to do the very same thing and in fact he is the same reason why i do and the reason why i am so into poker.

All the poker events that take place during any given year are great to see, it doesn’t matter how big or small they are even though i do admit that the bigger the event is the more exciting it tends to be and the more of a crowd the event usually draws with it. The world poker tour is sometimes out shined by the world series of poker, i would not go as far as saying that the two huge poker events are really in competition with one another as they seem to respect one another quite well but i would say that this year they were both wonderful to watch and that the results of both of them were rather a nice and refreshing surprise.

I am glad that the new year has started because now it is not long at all before all of the big poker action will start beginning all over the world both online and on land all over again. I love the start of the poker season, it is when there are so many new people to the game and we get to see these people improving in their game in the tournaments as the year progresses, with every month that goes by the new comers to the world of poker get better and better, proving just how much they do deserve their place in these events such as the world series of poker and the world poker tournament. It is not easy to get yourself to the levels at the game to be able to take part in these tournaments and these people work hard to get there.
