It was a great event and a great end of the year for the poker world. It is great to have poker in the world, it is one of few events or games that you can see televised and broadcast over free to air and pay television and held in casinos and all sorts of places all over the world on a regular basis every single month of the year. There are not many events that are running all year round, most sports are only running in particular seasons, it is poker that is going for the whole year, does not matter what month of the year it is, there will always be a poker event happening somewhere around the world, very inspirational and when you are a poker enthusiast you are never finding yourself bored or short of something to preoccupy your time with.

I bet you that the french players were absolutely kicking themselves when they were knocked out of the tournament because they did not play their advances. It is a fatal mistake and also one which should not have really been made in the first place and now in retrospect they are probably shaking and scratching their heads trying to figure out how and why they managed to make such a drastic and catastrophic error in the tournament. They played well and strong up until that fatal mistake though and I am sure that they will use that experience and learn from it and make sure that they will not make that same mistake again.

I can not believe that the French players ultimately knocked themselves out by such a bad decision such as not playing their advantages. Why in the world they chose to do that is beyond me. You would have to think that they would have good reasons for doing it but it obviously did not pay off for them in the end. Guess next time they may play it a little differently. I would be slapping myself silly if that was me that had done that. Such a simple and fatal screw up that was. It was an aspect of the game though that made it even more exciting there is no doubt about it. Hopefully next year they will stick it out a little bit longer and not make such a mistake again. Got to feel sorry for them though, they probably will not hear the end of it for a while. Every poker player will make mistakes, the best ones learn from them.

I think that all of us have had a moment in a game where we have felt like slapping ourselves on the head and said to ourselves “ Why the hell did you do that?” and it is nice to know that it isn’t just us everyday average poker players that have these moments, the professional poker players do it too. None of us are immune to the occasional bad call, which is exactly what it was for these French players. Whether or not they have learnt from that mistake is something that we will not know until we see them in a similar situation again, if they make the same mistake again then it will be an obvious indication to us all that they have not learnt from it at all but I do believe that they will not be making that mistake again. After all, they did not become such great professional poker players by not learning from their mistakes in their poker games, they got there by trial and error, making mistakes, learning from them, learning how to not make those same mistakes again. It may have knocked them out of their last chance to be champions for 2009 but it is only a matter of days now and the new year will begin as will all of the new poker action where these French players and everyone else in the poker world will be given fresh chances to make amends and make it big both financially and reputation wise in 2010.

I watched this, right to the very end. I was glued to it, when others may only watch at the end of it to see the winner being declared, i am one of those people who will sit there and watch the whole entire thing. How else could you honestly be able to say that you know what happened in the game first hand if you do not watch the whole thing in the first place. All the players who take part in these events are really good at what they do and although they may not realise it they really do teach all of us a few things when it comes to how to improve our game and everything.

I loved watching this whole event. It was basically as though i sat there counting down the hours until i would get to see who would take out the final big event in poker for 2009. My girlfriend was not too happy with me over it though lol but that is just because she does not understand my passion for poker just yet, she will get there soon enough lol, it was a great day to watch the poker action too because there was so much going on that basically i did not even see coming, sad to see that the French had knocked themselves out of the competition though but i guess they will take that experience and make sure that they learn from it for next time so that they don’t go off and do it again, they can get away with screwing up that badly once but if they do it again i suggest they give up because they’ll probably never get to live that down if they stuff it up the same way twice.

I always watch it every single year, i keep up with all the big poker events that happen throughout the year, i am more than just enthusiastic about the game, i really am a big fan and i like to think that when i watch the players in these tournaments i actually do learn something from them whilst they play. Eventually i do aim to be just as good at playing poker as these players are even though i understand completely that this goal may be unrealistic since i am not really getting any younger at all and by the time i am good enough to play poker on a professional level i will probably be needing a walking frame, but still it is nice to dream.

Every big poker event in the year is good to watch whether you get to go see it yourself in person or you get to watch it at home, the only difference is that when you go and see it in person you get to not only watch the tournament action but you also get to experience it all where as if you watch it from home you still get to see the action but you do not get to experience the whole feel of the tournament. Either way is better than not getting to see the tournament at all though. It was a shame to see the French making such a monumental mistake in their game play but i guess even the best of them have a huge screw up at some point in their professional poker careers, no one is immune to making mistakes no matter how great they are.

It was great to watch and i did learn something very valuble from the French players, i learnt not to make that kind of a mistake when i play. I look forward to this event every year and so far it has not bought me so much as a slight shred of disappointment. The events get better and better with every year that passes by and i am sure that this new year is not going to be any exception to what seems to be this unwritten law. There always seem to be some unexpected twist or turn in these tournaments, whether it is a player that we never thought would make it so far or someone we thought would make it to the end being knocked out in the early stages.

I hope that i do not offend anyone by saying this but i do have to be honest and admit that when i saw the French get knocked out of the tournament by doing what they did i kind of just sat back and had a big laugh, that wasn’t just a simple slip up, that was a huge stuff up that they never should have made in the first place, of course they should have known better than to screw up that badly all along, but yet they still did and i am sure that they will not be forgiving themselves for it any time soon, they are copping enough of people poking fun at them and pointing out how bad their mistakes were online let alone what they must be getting from the poker community in their home towns. Always such fun and games at a poker tournament and they are never boring that’s for sure.
